My cousin dislikes owls very much!

Well, real ones that is. She graduated with a degree in Biology and wanted to work with Marine life, however also wanted to stay close to home which in turn landed her at the zoo. Anyway, on Christmas day she was cleaning the horned owl's cage and he decided to fly down and attach her head. She ended up with four of his talons in her head, which of course did not feel good. When she walked into my mom's house on Christmas she turned to me and said, "I hate owls." Anyway, once she was a little calmer we were able to laugh about it.

The funny part to all this is that my mom bought me an owl ornament that I just happened to unwrap once Jessica (my cousin) was there. It is one that you can attach to the branch instead of hanging it. Anyway, I thought it would be funny to attach to her head and reinact the attack.

Brody's Stats

This first pic is of us playing during tubby-time...actually tug of war with the itsy-bitsy spider spout.

This pic of Brody playing inside of a box that had our living room chair in it...I think he enjoyed it, what do you think?
This last pic is of my little man, in all his Elmo glory, watching Elmo saves Christmas...for those of you who have children that love Elmo, I highly recommend this DVD.

As an update on Brody...I missed his first 18 month check-up so it actually became a 19 month check-up. Anyway, Brody has grown so much from his last visit. His weight has gone from 30th %ile to the 50th %ile, and his height went from 50% to 74%ile. This is just crazy that my little man is growing so fast. Oh yah, his noggin continues to stay in the high 70's low 80's...my baby has a big noggin I guess. Anyway, he's getting so big and becoming such a little boy...(insert sigh here). Don't get me wrong I love watching him grow and learn new things, however the time goes by so fast it is hard to comprehend sometimes.

Congratulations..

...to Jessica and Jason! My cousin Jessica's birthday was yesterday and what she received was a question and a ring. I believe you know what I am talking about...she's engaged! I am so happy for the both of them, I know how excited I was when Jason asked me (a different Jason of course :o) ) Anyway, she already asked Brody to be in her wedding...I believe he agreed in between the Sesame Street songs. Again...congratulations!!!

Santa, Santa, Santa!

Well we stood in line tonight at the mall to see if the wait was going to be worth it...and it was! We have the cutest pic of Brody sitting on Santa's lap with his cute Christmas sweater on. The sweater has a dinosaur eating candy canes...it is too cute. Anyway, we were so excited that he was not scared of Santa, we of course do not want to terrorize our little tike, however how can you know if you don't take him?!?

We still have some shopping left to do, we have really enjoyed shopping this year especially for Brody. We were able to get him a playhouse, which I know he will love. One of my friends allowed us to use her discount at Step 2 in order to puchase it...thanks Shellie!!!

Anyway, I am really looking forward to seeing his face light up Christmas morning when he sees his house. He is just going to love opening an closing the door and shutters, as well as ringing the doorbell. Well, off to put someone to bed...it is WAY past his bedtime!

Chirstmas ornament gift exchange

Well, I have to redo this blog thing...to many crazy things have happened. Anyway, I want to let everyone know about Sasha's get together that we had a few weeks ago.

It was crazy weather on that Saturday, it had just started snowing when I left my home. Anyway, it got a little hairy as I got closer to Sasha's home due to the massive amounts of snow falling and the "back" roads I was traveling. Low and behold I arrived safely and found a very festive and adorable home welcoming me. Sasha's home was decorated so cute; there were decorations everywhere, Christmas music playing on the TV and a woodwick candle burning on her dining room table. There was a spread of food made, all of which was delicious!

Tara, Sasha and I talked a lot that afternoon and was able to get caught up on each other's lives which was so nice. We also reminisced about college and had some great laughs. We looked at pics of Tara's new home (cannot wait to visit) and received a tour of Sasha's adorable home as well (love the basement!). So, we ate, talked some more, and then ate again...there was so much food!

We then had our little gift exchange (both Tara and I received owl ornaments and Sasha received a snowman)...will add pics when Tara sends them...they were all so cute. Anyway, we had a great time together and I look forward to doing it again. Tara said that she would like to have the next ornament gift exchange so that everyone can see where she lives...sounds good to me!

Thanks again Sasha for inviting all of us to your home, it was such a great time and I was glad to see Justin as well. And Lizz...I am so glad that you were alright after hitting that guard rail!
